Busy schedules of working parents have made day care facilities quite popular across the world. But there have always been debates about a child’s personal growth in such centers. Contrary to popular belief, a child learns a lot of different skills at these centers which help in the long run.

Most importantly, a child learns social skills at these centers. We keep telling children that sharing is caring. But it is at these child care centers that the child truly gets to exercise phrases like these. A child learns to share at day care centers. A very basic element such as playing games starts at day care centers. They even start learning how to potty train at daycare.

Another important skill of one’s life is to cultivate the art of making friends. Spending time with the same batch each day can bring the virtue of friendship in a child’s life. Most of the times, these children are from the same neighborhood. So, in some cases this might just go on to become a long lasting bond.

These centers are also a good way of introducing separation to children. Unless a child is home schooled, separation is inevitable. Some of the children feel homesick when their school is started. It is seen that the children that start early at day care centers do not face such anxiety and easily accept going to school.

It has also been seen that child care centers can help in boosting a child’s confidence. At the home environment a child might have the risk of being spoon fed everything. However, in a day care environment the child is left to explore which works in the advantage of the child. Here, children start getting this confidence of finishing tasks on their own. These tasks might be petty but the confidence that they can instill in the child is huge.
