Chamber Provides Customer Service Training with the Help of Community College

With an aim to provide customer service training to employees of area businesses, the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce collaborated with North Country Community College. The low-cost training program has been planned for employers of different position types with the support of a Community College Workforce Development grant. And a privilege has been granted to employers to schedule training sessions through the Chamber.
The course has been designed in order to provide the required knowledge about the customer service experience and it would offer customer service tools to workers of various workplace stations. It would be helpful in improving an employee’s customer service skill set which would eventually lead to improving customer satisfaction to a great extent. In addition to this, it would be effective in improving the decision making of an employee to provide valuable service to the customer.
NCCC Business Department Chair David St. Germain expressed his happiness over the initiation of this important training. He said that their collaboration with Chamber would help local businesses to effectively achieve their goals. The chamber stressed on the importance of customer experience in an area that is highly reliant on tourism for its economic growth. And it said that the training would revolve around teaching important tourism and recreation information to employees.
Due to the high importance of customer satisfaction for the growth of a business, most of the businesses across the globe are focusing on providing customer service training to their employees. Turkish Textile Giant Sun Textile Solution Proposal for Drought

While the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations (UN) are seeking solutions to combat drought through various projects, Ekoten Textile, a subsidiary of Turkey’s textile giant Sun Textile, has developed a groundbreaking project in collaboration with a technology startup to minimize the intensive water consumption in the textile industry. This pioneering project, the first of its kind globally, will enable the recycling and reuse of up to 90% of the water used in textile production.
Drought is one of the most pressing issues facing the world today. According to WHO data, 40% of the global population is struggling with water scarcity. By 2030, up to 700 million people could be forced to migrate due to drought. The unconscious use of water in global production processes plays a significant role in the rapid depletion of clean water resources.
The textile industry is one of the sectors with the highest water consumption. In Turkey, while the food industry consumes 22% of the water used for industrial purposes, the textile sector follows closely with 18%. For instance, producing an average of 40 tons of products daily requires 2,500 tons of water, equivalent to the daily water consumption of approximately 10,000 people.
